Tonto Christmas Tree Permit Sales Now Open

The holiday spirit is in full swing in the Tonto National Forest, as Christmas tree permit sales, which commenced on November 9th, continue to bring cheer to the community. Available both online at Recreation.gov and in person at various ranger stations, these permits offer a unique way to celebrate the season.

Permits, priced at $15, allow families to start their tree-cutting adventure from November 18th, continuing the tradition until December 31, 2023. Emphasizing inclusivity, the forest also provides free permits for holders of the Every Kid Outdoors pass, encouraging fourth graders and their families to partake in this festive activity. However, it's important to note that online transactions, including those for the free permits, are subject to a nominal fee.
